Chopin could have teared…
but he wouldnt know what an Er Hu or a Gu Zhen is.
What is music? It seems that the answer still eludes me. But each time i chance upon some beautiful music, i come tantalizingly close to finding the answer. Be it Chopin, Rachmaninoff or Joe Hisaishi, music is a language more beautiful and exotic than any human devices ever known in the history of man. It is more than a metaphor for the human spirit. Transcending mere human intellect is an understatement for the power of music.
Nothing embodies true, and beautiful music because perhaps…just perhaps it is the embodiment of man; his thoughts, imperfection and his spirit.
Music expresses feeling and thought, without language; it was below and before speech, and it is above and beyond all words.
