About
The parent of Shoshin-Zazen.com is Awakening which was concieved intially as a blog to contain daily experiences in life. This was back in 2005.
In the midst of change emgered Shoshin-Zazen.com. The name “Shoshin” was inspired by a Zen Buddhist master - Shunryu Suzuki and his book “Zen Mind, Beginner’s Mind.” It was Shunryu Suzuki who coined shoshin or beginner’s mind. According to Suzuki, beginner’s mind is a technique to practice zen buddhism.
If your mind is empty, it is always ready for anything; it is open to everything. In the beginner’s mind there are many possiblitities; in the expert’s mind there are few.
This blog is not meant to be religious or deeply intellectual. Shoshin-Zazen emcompass many and is inclusive instead of exclusive. It is this humble attitude towards life that we are inspired to use this online platform to archive our experiences in our lives while keeping shoshin lightly in our minds.
We hope you enjoy reading and may all beings we well and happy
